FLUANCE FI70 HIGH FIDELITY BLUETOOTH SPEAKER
We all love our Bluetooth speakers. It’s difficult to beat the convenience. The ability to fire up your favorite device, hit play, and instantly have music playing, whether you’re out by the pool or cooking dinner, is a definite bonus.
The biggest issue has to do with sound quality. The miniature size of some of these units dictates their frequency response and their ability not to sound like the vocals are coming from a tin can.
Filling this void is the Fluance Fi70 High Fidelity Bluetooth speaker ($500). The Fluence feature six drivers; dual 8 inch Polymer high excursion woofers, 5-inch woven glass fiber composite midrange drivers, and 1-inch silk soft dome Neodymium Ferrofluid cooled tweeters.
This entire setup is driven via a 280 watt (2x 140 watt) amplifier and delivers a respectable frequency response of 30Hz-20KHz. You don’t get the earth pounding bass of a standalone sub that can reach 20Hz, but 30Hz is definitely in the ballpark.
Apart from the systems aptX Bluetooth streaming capabilities, it features an integrated equalizer, so you can adjust bass and treble, an optical input, auxiliary input, touch controls, a digital AM/FM radio, LED display, and a USB port to charge your portable devices.
Fluance says the Fi70 can replace any bulky sound system in your house and fill any room with amazing audiophile quality sound.
