GLYPH PERSONAL MOBILE THEATER

Written by Lee King

The Glyph Personal Mobile Theater ($499) looks like a big set of headphones, but they’re much much more. The Glyph is a mobile theater system. Using a simple HDMI input it can display anything in your library. The Glyph uses something they call a Virtual Retinal Display which utilizes one million micromirrors in each eye piece to reflect images directly to the back of the retina. The result is an image that is high def, clear, and immersive. You get none of the side effects of other near view screens like screen door effect, pixellation, nausea or disorientation. And when you’re not using the screen, it flips out of the way and you just have a big set of headphones.
