The blade of the Morakniv is made from high carbon steel that’s been treated with a tungsten DLC anti-corrosive black coating. Black carbon steel increases the knives durability and allows for frequent regrinding. To avoid corrosion make sure to clean and dry your knife each day. Also, oil the blade after each use. The handle is wrapped in high-friction rubber grip which gives you a feeling of control. Along with the knife, you get a plastic sheath that holds a Morakniv fire starter and has an integrated diamond sharpener. The fire starter will last for approximately 7,000 strikes.
