NEOLUCIDA: CURRENT TAKE ON DRAWING TOOL OF THE MASTERS
The NeoLucida ($47) probably won’t be available again until 2014, but it is just too elegant of a product to not do a write-up. As of this writing the NeoLucida still has 27 days left on its Kickstarter and has already sold out 2x’s. Simply put, the NeoLucida is a drawing tool, that has a prism on the end of an adjustable arm. The prism projects whatever is in front of you onto your paper, which allows you to create photo realistic drawings. This technique is centuries old and is thought to be the exact way some of the most well known masterpieces were created. Check out this video of how the NeoLucida works.

Update: The NeoLucida Kickstarter campaign has closed to overwhelming success. They are now offering pre-orders to individuals who pledged $12+. They’ll open pre-orders to those who pledged $1 & $2 shortly. By early December they expect the NeoLucida to be commercially available to the public. Sign-up for their newsletter for notifications on availability. Great job guys and good luck.
Update: The NewLucida is now available through Amazon. One caveat is that it only ships within the U.S. and won’t ship internationally until Spring 2014.
