SKUTA MOUNTAIN SHELTER

Written by Lee King

The Skuta Mountain Shelter ($NFS) is the ultimate symbol of refuge. It was built to protect climbers from the extreme mountain conditions they could experience on Mountain Skuta in the Kamnik Alps of Slovenia. Built and transported in modules, it features a dedicated entrance, storage and a small space for food prep. The second module houses space for sleeping and socializing, while the third module features a bunk sleeping area. Windows at either end of the shelter provide panoramic views of the valley and the Skuta mountains. The whole project was transported and built in just one day.
