STEVE MCQUEEN'S PIONEER MOON RANCH

Written by Lee King

Yup Steve McQueen once owned this awesome property and I for one want to know why in the world anyone would ever sell this beautiful piece of paradise. Steve McQueen’s Pioneer Moon Ranch ($7.4 million) located in Hailey, Idaho includes about 500 acres, lies at the foot of the Pioneer mountains and is only about 25 minutes from downtown Ketchum.
The east fork of the Big Wood Rover flows the length of the property. It provides irrigation for the ranch’s seasonal pastures and supports an extensive wildlife. The property also borders the Sawtooth National Forest which provides miles of hiking, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, mountain bike riding, and backcountry skiing. Pretty much whatever your heart desires.
The compound features a 1410 sq. ft. two-bedroom/two-bath log home which was remodeled in 2004. The home has a complete kitchen living/dining area with large rock fireplace and a loft area used a library.
The separate 1731 sq. ft. annex structure was built in 2010 and blends seamlessly with the other structures. It provides additional living, entertainment and storage. It has a living room with bar, a dining room, library, bedroom and 1.5 baths. It also has a 1539 sq. ft. 4-bay garage with two heated bays, a workshop and a loft area for additional work or living space. If you love the outdoors you can have it all with this property.
