THE CRESTA HOUSE BY JONATHAN SEGAL

Written by Lee King

The Cresta House by Jonathan Segal ($TBA) is located in San Diego, California and looks kinda like an above ground bomb shelter. The three story house is 5300 square feet and made entirely from cast in place concrete. If features floor to ceiling glass and huge openings to the outdoors. What’s amazing about this structure is it’s almost completely off the grid. Due to the thermal mass of the concrete, available sun shade, and the insulating effect of the pool, the 6.5kw solar array on the roof provides almost all of the power the home requires.
