THE SLAB – WOOD WATCH BY SLIM TIMBER

Written by Lee King

Slim Timber is run by a husband and wife who make wood products. Their latest endeavor is a wood watch called “The Slab” ($165). The Slab uses a Miyota 8215, an automatic mechanical movement that is also used in watches like Invicta and Citizen. It will run up to two days when not in use. The remainder of the watch is made from stabilized maple or seven-ply maple skateboard wood. The Slab is water resistant to 5 ATMs, so it’s OK for swimming and showers, but not for diving or snorkeling.
