VIDEO: APPLE WATCH REVEALED
Apple has just revealed its biggest product release in years. The new Apple Watch ($350) is looking to overtake the modern smartwatch market. The design looks beautiful but the usability looks amazing. Apple’s ability to make every function intuitive is simply amazing. Besides the featured video in this thread you will also find a second video focused on the watches design and a third focused on the watches fitness and health functionality. They also just released the new U-2 album and are giving it away for free to iTunes members.
Apple Watch Features:
Specifications: The Apple Watch will come in two different sizes: 38mm & 42mm. Don’t think of these as male and female versions, but as personal preference options.
It includes an accelerometer to measure body movement and a custom sensor that tracks workout intensity by measuring your heart rate. GPS and Wi-Fi are also included to track distance traveled and to support the map app.
The Watch will only work with Apple iPhones and only with series 5 or higher phones.
During setup you can choose how you want the watch orientated. So if you’re a lefty you can place the watch on your right hand. The only down side is the digital crown will be on the bottom instead of the top.
Design: Three Different styles will be available with different types of cases: the Watch in stainless steel, Watch Sport made from anodized aluminum, and the Watch Edition in 18-karat gold.
Touch Screen and Digital Crown: The touch screen and digital crown can be used for scrolling, zooming and accessing the home screen.
The home screen is filled with a group of bubbles that represent your apps. Using your finger you can move around the group and put the app in the center of the screen you want to use. Give it a tap and you’re good to go.
The digital crown allows you to zoom in and out of the contents on the screen, move through different menu buttons or give it a press to get back to the home screen. Press and hold the crown to bring up Siri.
The social button below the crown allows you to bring up a list of your contacts in order to place a call, send them your heart beat or a sketch.
Applications: Included is a map app to show your current location and provide turn-by-turn directions. The taptic response (vibration) will show you which way to turn.
Comes with two fitness apps. An activity app monitors movement throughout the day and the workout app tracks dedicated workouts. It shows real-time stats such as calories, time distance, and pace for workouts.
The Watch also measures three aspects of movement (move, exercise, and stand) through visual rings . The stand ring shows how often you’ve stood up to take a break from sitting, exercise ring measures brisk activity, and movement shows if you’ve met your daily activity level.
