VLF AUTOMOTIVE FORCE 1 ANNOUNCED IN DETROIT

Written by Lee King

One January 6th in Detroit VLF Automotive revealed one of the fastest American made supercars to date. VLF was founded by former GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz, and legendary automotive designer Henrik Fiske. 50 units of the VLF Force 1 Super Car ($268,000) will be made at the companies manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills. The Force 1’s price is on par with other European supercars and has the specs to compete.
It will come with an 8.4-liter V10 engine that puts out 745 horses with 638 lb-ft of torque. Top speed will be 218 mph with a 0-60 split of under three seconds.
“The sculpture on Force 1 is like a family succession to Destino, dramatic and powerful, relative flat surfaces on the high end of the body side, with lines full of tension, emerging onto a rounder lower section, where Force 1 has a large functional outlet. The sculptural hood has unique large negative surfaces, as in the family of the Destino, with six highly needed air intakes and outlets for the 745-HP 8.4 L V10 engine.”, said Fiske.
Although the Force 1 is priced out of range of regular folks any manufacturing in Detroit is good news for the city.
