AVATAR
This amazing and ground breaking 2009 masterpiece by James Cameron ushered in the era of the RealD 3D cinema technology. Avatar ($17) follows Jake Sully, (Sam Worthington) a paralyzed Marine that’s been dispatched to the moon known as Pandora. He has a unique mission which leaves him conflicted between carrying out the orders that he’s given and protecting this new world. Avatar is currently the king when it comes to the proper use of 3D to enhance and make you feel like you’re apart of a movie and not just using it as a gimmick. The cast features Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington, and Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriquez, and Giovanni Ribisi. Avatar is currently the highest grossing movie of all time.
