When the greatest coach in NBA history decides to write a book about how he won all those rings, it just might be worth getting a copy. “Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success” ($17), by Phil Jackson, tells the story of a preacher’s kid who through his exploration of humanistic psychology, Native American philosophy, and Zen meditation, created the ultimate approach to leadership. His style is based on selfless teamwork, freedom, and authenticity. Even while coaching some of the biggest egos in the game Phil never wavered from his coaching style, which was to win from a place of goodness instead of pandering to his players using fear or greed.
