Jessica Banks and Mihae Mukaida are the founders of RockPaperRobot. Jessica is a roboticist, and Mihae has a design background. Together they create beautiful analog and digital pieces. The Magnetic Wooden Float Table by RockPaperRobot ($10,000) is a great work of art and an example of great engineering at the same time. The table is a matrix of magnetized wooden cubes. Each cube is held in place by a system of steel cables while the magnets push against each other causing the cubes to float.
