There are few modern day punchlines which are as iconic, and untrue, as “I only read it for the articles.” While there were articles provided by great writers, and a lot of humor too, nobody can deny that the big draw of Playboy was its spectacular covers. Some of the greatest beauties of all time graced the cover of Playboy and they have enticed millions to buy it from back in the fifties when it first appeared through into the 21st century. Playboy’s Greatest Covers ($23) is a collection of 200 covers, chosen by Hugh Hefner himself gives us an insight on how a magazine could have such an impact on the culture of America.
