PRIMER
There are times when things are made that creates a snowball effect to something bigger than anyone ever imagined. Written and directed by and starring Shane Carruth, along with David Sullivan and Casey Gooden, this little movie from 2004 is another that has gone on to achieve cult status. Primer ($6) follows 4 fledgling entrepreneurs who have each invented a new device but they all also know that their latest invention, a time machine, is going to change their lives forever. This movie is a drama and a thriller with a healthy dose of sci-fi thrown in for good measure. Primer’s take on the paradoxes associated with time travel are extremely well done especially considering the movie was shot on a budget of $7,000.
