SMOKE & PICKLES

Written by Lee King

If you’ve seen any of Food Networks Iron Chef or Top Chef episodes, then you’ve surely seen Chef Edward Lee. His new book, Smoke and Pickles: Recipes and Stories from a New Southern Kitchen ($20) pulls from his Korean and Southern influences and provides more than 130 recipes to excite the palette. Chef Lee is an American Korean, raised in Brooklyn, who eventually settled down in Lousiville, Kentucky, where he owns world acclaimed restaurant 610 Magnolia. His new book is filled with cooking techniques, like pickling, fermenting, frying, and smoking, that make you feel right at home.
