Make no mistake The Book Of Bastards ($14) does not overlook Benedict Arnold, America’s first traitor, but he is only one of the 101 bastards in this one of a kind volume dedicated to the Washington bad guys. He is in good company too when you look at some of the gross misconduct within this scarily funny but historically correct book. This is a page turning potboiler of the highest degree as it reveals those dirty little secrets none of us learned about in history class. From illicit trysts to illegitimate children ( who knew Grover Cleveland had it in him) the dirt is well and truly dished here and what a cracking read it is.
