The Conquest of Everest

Written by Lee King

A celebration of the first time the mighty Mount Everest was conquered back in May of 1953. The Conquest of Everest ($28) gives exclusive access to some quite remarkable images and the personal archives of George Lowe, a legendary photographer and climber. He was the in the party who accompanied Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tensing Norgay on that landmark expedition but very little has ever been written about him previously. This book was published to celebrate on of the mans greatest triumph over nature, and it is something to treasure. The original photos get across the message of this epic expedition like words never could.
