WATCH DRAKE'S “HOTLINE BLING” VIDEO
Drake has just dropped another video and now you can Watch Drake’s “Hotline Bling” ($FREE) on Muted. In a recent interview with Fader he said the song is based on the concept of taking a single beat from a popular song, in this case, D.R.A.M.s “Cha Cha”, and putting his spin on it. This is the “modern-rap equivalent to a dancehall artist recording their spin on a hot riddim.”
But the question is, how does this sort of sampling sit with the original artist? The latest tweet from D.R.A.M suggests, not very well.
