LINDA MCCARTNEY: LIFE IN PHOTOGRAPHS

Written by Lee King

While enjoying a brief stint as a receptionist for the magazine Town and Country in 1966, Linda McCartney managed to bag herself a press pass for an uber exclusive promotional event with the Rolling Stones on a yacht on the Hudson River. Her candid, fresh shots of the band were found to be way superior to those taken by the Stones’ official photographer, and Linda was on her way to becoming one of top rock n’ roll photographers in the world. She entered the record books in 1968 by becoming the first female photographer to have an image on the cover of Rolling Stone with her now iconic image of Eric Clapton. Linda Mccartney: Life In Photographs ($35) encapsulates the spirit of the real Linda and shows younger generations how she was way more than just the wife of a Beatle.
