PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES

Written by Lee King

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains.” This is the opening line of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which is effectively an extended version of everyone’s favorite Jane Austen classic. There are many new scenes telling of the bone-crunching zombie mayhem that is now plaguing the sleepy English village of Meryton. The dead are coming back to life and Elizabeth Bennet, our feisty heroine, is determined that she will wipe out the menace of the zombies. She is, of course, distracted from her quest by the arrogant Mr Darcy and the delightful comedy that ensues will make even the staunchest of Austen fans find it hard not to laugh out loud.
